Who We Are
Rebels' Mission
At Rebels Misfits Rescue we strive to help the overpopulation of animals in Cochise County, Arizona. We believe all animals deserve proper veterinary care, family lifestyle, and love. Our goal is to assist our community members in ensuring their pets' health.

Rebels' Goals
As an organization, our goals are to work with the community and local businesses to raise funds to help members of our community. We would like to keep all funds raised for local help and support. In the future, we hope to offer help with spaying/neutering, assistance with emergency vet costs, temporary boarding for hospitalized owners, basic training, pet food, and pet items for families in need.

WHERE DID WE GET OUR NAME?

Meet "Rebel"
HOW DID REBELS MISFIT RESCUE GET TO WHERE WE ARE TODAY?
My name is Christina, and I am the founder of Rebels Misfits Rescue. After years of working with other rescues and independently rescuing animals, I decided I needed to do more for the animals in our community. Rebels Misfits Rescue was officially established with the Arizona Corporation Commission in March 2023 as a 501(c)3.
In the beginning, our goal was to help by taking in animals, placing them with fosters, and adopting them out after proper medical care. Through our first year of growing pains, we came to the conclusion that taking in animals only temporarily helps people’s situations but doesn’t provide a long-term solution.
In January 2025, the board decided that Rebels Misfits Rescue would focus more on helping our community by assisting with the costs of spays/neuters, vaccinations, emergency medical services, and, on a case-by-case basis, supplying food or other necessities. While we still occasionally take animals in as fosters, our main objective is now to help our community prevent overpopulation and keep our animals happy and healthy.

My name is Christina, I am the Founder, Treasurer with Rebels Misfits Rescue. I am a certified fear-free groomer, a mom, Mimi and passionate animal lover. My passion comes from helping animals that are in distress. I thrive when I am able to bring an unhealthy animal back to healthy. I get pure joy and satisfaction in knowing that I was able to make a difference in the animals life and set them up to be an amazing companion for a family! My personal goal has always been to help animals and people of my community with basic needs and educating. Thank you all, for helping and joining us on this adventure, your support is appreciated.

Hello fellow animal lovers! My name is Mandy Konrad. I’ve lived in Benson for over 30 years (BHS Class of ‘96) and raised my children, Ellis & Chloe, here. I have been surrounded by animal companions my entire life and giving back to the community is important to me, so I was very honored to be asked to serve on the Rebels Misfits Board. Growing up, I was actively involved in 4-H and FFA and had everything from hamsters to horses. These days my boyfriend and I share our home with our ever expanding flock of finches, goldfish, two kitties and four beloved dogs. I hope you will join us in our cause for the paws…and fins, feathers & scales too!

My name is Debi and I came to the rescue at the beginning of 2024. I am a wife, mother of three and a Nana. Although I am old enough to be a grandmother I still have two young children at home so our lives our pretty busy! Although I am not your typical animal lover, I do share a passion to help our community and I believe pets provide us with a level of comfort and companionship we can not find elsewhere. I do have one dog that has made her way deep into my heart and I can not live without her and that is my miss Lulu. I have a strong passion for marketing and advertising and love to help the rescue in any way I can!

My name is Zach Massey and I am the Chairman of Rebels Misfits. Growing up I was always into animals, and helping them. I grew up in Missouri most of my life where I lived on a farm, I was apart of the FFA organization in my High school. My child hood best friend’s mom owned a rescue and I would always try to help any way I could. After I got a place of my own I fostered a puppy for Rebels Misfits and I just knew that was what I wanted to do with my free time. Help others , and animals in any way I could. My goal for helping Rebels Misfits is to help animals feel loved and taken care of instead of being neglected. If an animal is sick, needs medical treatment or a home I would like to find the best possible way for Rebels Misfits to help in any way we can.
